Japan Tourism Agency Organization

The Japan Tourism Agency is an external agency of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and is organized as follows:

Regional Organization

The district transport bureaus under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as well as the Transport Department of the Okinawa General Bureau under the Cabinet Office also conduct tourism-related operations. Japan National Tourism Organization

The JTA also has the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in its jurisdiction (Law Concerning the Independent Administrative Institution Japan National Tourism Organization [Law No. 181 of 2002]).

As the official tourism bureau of Japan, the JNTO performs operations necessary to encourage overseas visitors to Japan, including tourism advertising abroad and tour guiding for international travelers.
