2.“Safety tips”: a push-enabled information alert app for foreign tourists
For overseas visitors, the Japan Tourism Agency (JNTO) offers a free, push enabled application “Safety tips” that gives earthquake early warning (EEW) alerts in five languages (Japanese, English, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese and Korean).
Download the free app to your smartphone and tablet-type device, and you can access information on evacuation advisories, weather alerts explanations, and “communication cards” for obtaining information from those around you in the event of disaster. Safety tips can be download at
