At the Japan-Israel Summit in May 2018, it was confirmed that it promoted strengthening the entire relations of both countries including the economic field.
In response to this, in Israel in September 2018, both the Japanese and Israeli governments shared the importance of expanding human exchanges in both tourism and business. In addition, discussion on the possibility of charter flight operation to stimulate demand in anticipation of future direct flights and concrete adjustments concerning charter flight implementation have been conducted on a private basis since then.
This direct charter flight was the first flight to go between Tokyo (Narita Airport) and Israel (Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion Airport).
