Results of the Consumption Trends of International Visitors to Japan Survey for the April-June Quarter of 2018 (preliminary report) and the January to March Quarter of 2018 (secondary report)

--Overall expenditure by international visitors to Japan for the April to June quarter of 2018 was 1.1233 trillion yen, and per capita expenditure (general visitors) was 144,082 yen.

Outline of the results of the survey on the consumption trends of international visitors to Japan

April to June quarter of 2018 (preliminary report)

--Overall expenditure by international visitors to Japan for the April to June quarter of 2018 was 1.1233 trillion yen. Among that, the travel expenditure of general visitors (international visitors excluding cruise passengers) was 1.096 trillion yen, and the travel expenditure of cruise passengers (with landing permission for cruise ship tourists) was 27.3 billion yen.
 
--In terms of travel expenditure per person for international visitors to Japan: for general visitors it was 144,082 yen and for cruise passengers it was 40,501 yen.

January-March quarter of 2018 (secondary report)

--In terms of the prefectural visiting rate of international visitors, the highest was Osaka prefecture (39.1%), then Tokyo (37.2%), and Chiba (29.6%).
 
--In terms of the travel expenditure per person for international visitors by prefecture, the highest was Hokkaido (110,000 yen), then Tokyo (87,000 yen) and Nagano (77,000 yen).
